Undergraduate Move-Out Dates (On-Campus and Neighborhood Units)

  • Undergraduate Residence Halls close on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 9:00PM
  • University Villas closes on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 12:00PM
  • Neighborhood Units close on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 12:00PM
All residents are required to move out within 24 hours of their last final, and no later than their building close date. Please review the undergraduate final exam schedule and finalize travel arrangements as early as possible. 

Spring 2026 Housing Contract Extensions

The Spring extension sign-up form will open on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 9:00AM and will need to be submitted by Wednesday, June 3, at 5:00PM. Students who wish to sign up for a Housing contract extension, please fill out the extension form found in your housing portal via MySCU under Applications.

University Villas remains open through 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Villas residents do not need to sign up for a Housing Contract extension. Students who are not participating in graduation activities are asked to move out within 24 hours of their last scheduled final examination. No extensions will be granted beyond 12:00PM on Sunday.

Zero Waste Move Out

DROP - SWAP - SHOP

Since 2006, SCU has implemented options for responsible donating and recycling during move-out to reduce waste and repurpose items.

In order to reduce waste during move-out, the Center for Sustainability coordinates and collects donations of items in good condition that can be reused or repurposed. Please consider donating items in good and working order instead of placing them in dumpsters! 

  • Donate clothing, shoes, accessories, and school supplies in advance at Bucky's Closet, Daly Science Center, Room 317, open Monday through Thursday: 2:30-6:30pm.

  • Donate room decor, organizers, small appliances and electronics, and other residence hall room items to a Move-Out Marketplace June 8 - 11, 7:00AM - 7:00PM  at Casa Italiana, Graham, McLaughlin-Walsh, or University Villas. Drop off, swap, or take items from any marketplace. Any items remaining will be donated to are charities or incoming SCU students.

How to prepare your MicroFridge® for pick up after Move-Out

Please leave your MicroFridge in your room. They will be picked up AFTER move out. You do NOT need to be present. To avoid additional charges the MicroFridge must be:

  1. Left inside your room: If you moved or transferred the fridge to another room, please notify Housing. 

  2. Fully Defrosted: Please unplug the unit TWO DAYS prior to your move out date. Do not use any sharp objects to defrost the unit.

  3. Completely clean & dry: This includes seals and inside/outside surfaces of the refrigerator, freezer, & microwave. There will be a $30 charge if not cleaned.

  4. Returned with all parts: Ice scraper, top and bottom shelf, microwave plate and ring. There will be charges for missing parts.

  5. Left with refrigerator & freezer doors open: Please leave refrigerator & freezer doors open after defrosting & cleaning.

Microfridge is the preferred vendor of rental refrigerators at Santa Clara.
