Navigating ethics and compliance in a Silicon Valley giant—all in a day’s work for students through the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics.

 

For 15 hours each week, three SCU seniors—Sarina Jwo and classmates Ashley Derakhshandeh and Conor Boone—wear the cap of internal investigators at Cisco Systems as part of a new program from the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics. The interns have been trained as fraud analysts and work alongside ethics and compliance professionals on investigations. Day-to-day duties include analyzing expense reports and transmissions, compiling reports, and participating in interviews.
