Santa Clara University Excellence in Graduate Programs Recognized in U.S. News Rankings

Santa Clara's MBA and law programs had strong showings in the annual ranking.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 30, 2021—Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business has been recognized as a leader in graduate business education in the newest rankings from the U.S. News & World Report, while the University’s School of Law was again recognized for having the 4th best intellectual property program in the nation.

The U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools rankings were released today, and are available online.

MBA
Jumping five spots from last year, SCU’s evening MBA program ranked No. 20 in the nation, making this the third straight year of a top 25 placement for the program and placing it among the top 7% of the 273 ranked business schools. The newest ranking now makes SCU’s evening MBA the No. 2 program in Bay Area, the No. 4 program in California, and the No. 10 program from a private university.

The school’s executive MBA program, designed for seasoned executives with 10 or more years of managerial experience, earned a No. 13 spot in this year’s rankings, making this the third consecutive year in the top 15. The program is now the No. 3 program in California.

Several of the graduate business program’s concentrations also received high marks. The business analytics concentration made its first appearance on the list, earning a No. 15 spot, while the finance concentration captured the No. 26 spot, and the entrepreneurship concentration came in at No. 30.

“It is an honor not only to see the hard work of our students, faculty, and staff recognized in this way but to know that our peers in graduate business education recognize the rigor and caliber of a Santa Clara education,” said Leavey School Interim Dean Naren Agrawal. “As we celebrate these new rankings, we also look ahead to continued improvement as we work to provide our students with a top-notch curriculum that allows them to take advantage of every resource Silicon Valley has to offer and sets them up for success in leadership.”

Law
Santa Clara University’s School of Law, which was ranked No. 126 overall among all law schools nationwide, was ranked fourth in the nation for its intellectual property program and among the top 50 in international law and part-time programs.
