Santa Clara University Selects the Class of 2030

The pool of students reflects the university's ongoing commitment to academic excellence and educational access

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 7, 2026—Following a thorough review of nearly 20,000 applications, Santa Clara University has offered admission to the next generation of student scholars, leaders, and changemakers who reflect the very best of what a Santa Clara education aims to cultivate. The University looks forward to welcoming those who choose to join the Class of 2030 this fall.

Behind the decisions

The academic credentials of this admitted pool are impressive. Admitted students have a 3.86 GPA unweighted. Among the students who shared their test scores, the pool boasts an average SAT score of 1463 and an average ACT score of 33.

First-generation college students account for 12% of those admitted, up from three years ago. Admitted students hail from all 50 states and 48 countries and regions worldwide.

This pool also reflects the strength of Santa Clara's partnerships with organizations that share its commitment to access and opportunity. Among those offered admission is the University's third cohort of Posse Scholars, selected through the Posse Foundation's rigorous process for their exceptional academic qualifications, leadership potential, and collaborative spirit, as well as the first official cohort of students from College Track Oakland, which connects high-achieving students from East Bay communities with a Santa Clara education. Students who have qualified for the Santa Clara University California Promise and Cristo Rey Promise programs are also represented in this year's pool.

Together, these partnerships reflect Santa Clara's conviction that talent is everywhere and that the University is strongest when its community reflects the full breadth of human experience.

This admitted pool brings extraordinary depth outside the classroom as well. Among those offered admission, students held over 8,000 volunteer experiences and logged hundreds of thousands of hours of community service. Furthermore, the pool includes published researchers, award-winning artists, and student government leaders, demonstrating the wide range of talent these students would bring to the university community.

“We are thrilled to welcome a class that so beautifully reflects the heart of a Santa Clara education,” said Eva Blanco Masías, vice president for enrollment management. “These students bring with them not only an impressive academic talent, but a commitment to service, creativity, and purpose that will enrich our community and carry our Jesuit mission forward.”

LOOKING AHEAD

The University will accept applications for prospective transfer students through April 15.

Those who choose to enroll will become part of a legacy of Jesuit education that has shaped generations of leaders, innovators, and people of conscience. The University eagerly anticipates meeting the members of the Class of 2030 who will call Santa Clara home this fall.
