Esha Chatterjee
Associate Director, Educational Assessment

Esha Chatterjee is a sociologist and quantitative researcher specializing in labor markets, gender inequality, and public policy. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology from Stanford University in 2023 and consequently served as a Survey Researcher at UCLA’s Institute of Environment and Sustainability. Her research investigates how educational pathways—particularly college majors—shape gender segregation and income inequality in the labor market. Using mixed methods, including large-scale data from the American Community Survey and a custom-designed conjoint experiment, her dissertation explores the causal relationship between field of study and occupational sex segregation. At Santa Clara University, Dr. Chatterjee brings her expertise in data-driven analysis and equity-focused research to the role of Associate Director of Curriculum Assessment, where she supports the development and evaluation of inclusive, evidence-based academic programs.
