Alec Nunes
Quarterly Lecturer
Alexander Nunes is an ethnomusicologist and Quarterly Lecturer at Santa Clara University and UC Santa Cruz. Currently, his work focuses on cultural sustainability and community resilience in Japanese folk music and dance as practiced in Northern California. His previous work on sound and music in games was included in Nostalgia and Video Game Music (Intellect 2022), in which he wrote on nostalgia, liminality, and fan-made covers of music from the Legend of Zelda series. He’s also looking forward to exploring the shamisen’s role in the new video game, Ghost of Yōtei.
