Ginger Kroft is an active orchestral and chamber musician in the San Francisco Bay Area with over 20 years of experience. She is a member of the Oakland East Bay Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic, and Carmel Bach Festival orchestras. She has also held positions with the Monterey Symphony, Fresno Philharmonic, and Santa Cruz Symphony orchestras.
She has performed with groups such as the San Francisco Symphony, Opera and Ballet orchestras and performed under the baton of Pierre Boulez, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jeffrey Tate, Donald Runnicles and Keith Lockhart among others.
In 2004 Ginger joined a select few when she was added to the Vandoren International Artists list. Vandoren is the leading maker of clarinet reeds and accessories. She plays M13-lyre mouthpieces with Traditional reeds.
An education advocate, Ginger has been teaching in San Francisco Bay Area public schools as a clarinet and woodwind coach for the past 15 years. Ginger also maintains a pre-college teaching studio: www.ClarinetStudio.org
She is an active chamber musician and has performed with numerous San Francisco-based groups, including the Bridge Players, the ADORNO ensemble and the Worn Ensemble. Currently, she performs with Avenue Winds, a woodwind quintet.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Bachelor of Music, Ginger completed a Master of Music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she was awarded a Departmental Honor. She is a member of the International Clarinet Society, Chamber Music America, Music Teachers' Association of California, and the American Federation of Musicians.
