Yeseul (Stella) Park
Oboe
Oboist Yeseul Park has appeared extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer, earning recognition for her expressive sound, stylistic versatility, and nuanced musicianship. Her performance career includes recitals and chamber concerts at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Seoul Arts Center, as well as international touring engagements, most notably as principal oboist with the New York Symphonic Ensemble on its Japan tour.
Ms. Park has held principal positions with multiple ensembles, including the orchestra for the Broadway musical Wicked in New York, the Union City Opera/Philharmonic, the New York Symphonic Ensemble, the Classical Ensemble, and the Seoul Classic Chamber Ensemble. She has also toured Germany as part of the Seoul Spring Music Festival, performing alongside world-renowned oboist Albrecht Mayer.
As an active chamber musician, she is a member of Xrio Ensemble and a co-founder of the Amadeus Orchestra. She continues to perform widely across the Bay Area and beyond, championing both traditional repertoire and new works.
A dedicated educator, Ms. Park is currently on the faculty of the Young Artists Foundation Chamber Music Program. She also serves as faculty and adjudicator for leading Bay Area youth orchestras, including CPYO, Hopebox, and Opus, and previously taught at Ramaz Middle School and The Cathedral School in New York. Her private teaching studio, Stella Park Oboe Studio, has produced numerous competition winners and youth-orchestra principal players.
Ms. Park is a prizewinner of the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition, the Baroque Ensemble Competition, and major national competitions, including the Busan MBC Competition, Kukmin Ilbo Competition (1st Prize), Music Chunchu Competition (1st Prize), and the Korean Music Association Competition (1st Prize). Originally a violinist, she transitioned to the oboe at age fifteen after being inspired by the expressive power of music, particularly the works of J.S. Bach. She earned her Bachelor of Music from Seoul National University and both her Master of Music (MM) degree and Professional Studies Certificate (PS) in Orchestral Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, graduating with highest honors. She is a recipient of the Berkman Rahm Scholarship and studied with Liang Wang, former principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic. Ms. Park is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she is actively engaged in performances, chamber music collaborations, orchestral engagements, and teaching.
