Alex Austin

Alex is the CEO of Branch, a mobile software company that employs 300 people in 11 countries and manages software that runs on over 90% of the smartphones around the world, analyzing tens of billions of user interactions per day.

While still an undergraduate at Santa Clara University, Alex began his working career at NASA Ames, where he authored and contributed to 8 published papers on nanotechnology. During and after earning his MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford, Alex worked at Miasole where he contributed to 2 granted and 6 pending patents and helped set the world record of thin film solar panel efficiency 3 consecutive times.

While studying at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Alex wrote 6 mobile apps for Android and iOS.One app, Kindred, was featured on the Apple App Store homepage for 4 weeks and as best new app of 2013 by Google Play. After earning his MBA in 2014, Alex sold his mobile apps to concentrate on Branch.
