First-year and new transfer LEAD Scholars are supported by peer mentors throughout their first year at Santa Clara University. These peer mentors build community during LEAD Week and continue to meet regularly with students throughout the academic year, while also planning group activities for their mentoring group.

LEAD Peer Mentors

Get to know our 2023 Peer Mentors!

During LEAD Week, the Peer Mentors lead daily peer mentoring group meetings, coordinate afternoon team building activities and assist with other activities throughout the week.

During the academic year, peer mentors meet with each mentee individually once a quarter. They also organize one event for their entire mentee team to participate in each quarter. Whether that is attending a SCU event together, or sharing a meal, the option is up to each mentoring group.

The Peer Mentor program is designed to have our olders LEAD Scholars support and guide our new students as they adjust to life at SCU and the broader area. Are they getting involved on campus? Finding the academic support they need? Getting along with their roommate? Needing to talk to an older LEAD student in their major? Peer Mentors are there to support their peers through any questions, comments or concerns they may have about their overall experience on campus, in the classroom or in the broader community.
