"Camino de los Muertos" Celebration Nov. 1 at Santa Clara University
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 28, 2025—Santa Clara University will be hosting a community-wide Day of the Dead celebration, “Camino de los Muertos,” on its campus on Saturday Nov. 1, from 5 to 9 p.m. A special All Saints Day Catholic Mass will also be held in Spanish at 4 p.m. in the Mission Church on Santa Clara’s campus.
During the third annual event, which draws thousands of community members to Santa Clara’s campus, visitors will enjoy:
- Dozens of ofrendas (altars) along the camino to commemorate and honor departed loved ones
- Live music
- Performances by Santa Clara's Ballet Folklórico group
- Catrina (the iconic Día de los Muertos skeleton figure) costume competition
- Traditional and authentic Mexican, Hispanic, or Latin foods from local vendors
The event is sponsored by Santa Clara University, the Mexican Consulate of San Jose, and the Bay Area's Univision 14.
