Dear Members of the Santa Clara Community:

The Workday Student Change Management team would like to thank everyone who participated in the Change Readiness Survey and focus groups.  We were able to gather useful information due to the honest feedback from faculty and staff. We would like to share some of the high level themes we found and our next steps.

Themes:

  • Engage Users In Planning and Testing
    • Get input from key groups who are not represented on project teams, but will be highly impacted by Workday Student.
    • Transparency is important.  Be honest about what Workday Student can and cannot do.
  • Training
    • “Just-in-time” training for specific user groups based on when they need it.
    • Easy to use Quick Reference guides that focus on steps needed to complete tasks
  • Provide Support:
    • Responsive, timely, knowledgeable, and sustained support.

Next steps:

  • Continue to work through the suggestions made by faculty and staff during the focus groups and regularly share as progress is made.
  • Create a website which will include implementation updates, training materials, videos and guides to help the SCU community better understand and prepare for Workday Student.
  • Offer regular Working in Workday: Engagement Sessions for faculty and staff focused on specific modules of Workday Student to discuss functionality and get feedback.
  • Develop a training model that meets the needs of the SCU community.
  • Work with SCU leadership to develop a system of ongoing support after implementation.

We hope you are able to recharge and enjoy family, friends, and good cheer during your time away from campus.
