Pioneering Women

Professor Nancy Unger featured in a PBS short on Jeannette Rankin, the first woman elected to Congress

The hour-long television premier of "Unladylike2020: The Changemakers," in which Nancy is featured, has become the most streamed video in the 34 year history of American Masters. PBS has now released a 12 minute short on Jeannette Rankin (first woman elected to Congress) with Nancy providing the historical commentary, and Congresswoman Deb Haaland featured as a contemporary woman following in Rankin's footsteps.

Nancy was also one of three panelists for “Celebrating 100 Years of Women’s Right to Vote,” AAUW Women’s Week Discussion in August, and presented an illustrated talk "Winning Women's Suffrage: Celebrating Victories, Learning from Mistakes," as the SCU library's fall quarter literary cuisine event.
