Marie Evanston

Academic Year Adjunct Lecturer

Marie Evanston received her Ph.D. From the University of California at Riverside in March of 2023. Her primary interests are in ethics, agency theory, and autonomy. She is especially interested in the intersection of autonomy and ethics: her dissertation argues that in order to have the fullest form of autonomy, one must be committed to pursuing ethical truth. Marie mainly teaches courses in contemporary ethical issues. This year she will be teaching Ethics and Society, Intro to Ethics, Ethics and Marginalized Persons, Ethics and Gender, and Knowledge and Reality. When she is not doing philosophy, she loves to craft, paint, and read from a wide variety of genres.

Marie is passionate about teaching writing. Visit the website used in her writing courses.
