Frederick J. Parrella

Professor Emeritus, Religious Studies Department

Frederick J. Parrella received his A.B. in Classical Languages and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Fordham University, New York. His research interests include ecclesiology, eschatology, and the connection of Catholic theology with the philosophical theology of Lutheran theologian Paul Tillich. He received the Brutocao Award for Teaching Excellence by the University in 1994 and the Logothetti Award for Teaching by the College of Arts and Sciences in 2008. He was named Faculty Senate Professor for the year 2011-2012 for distinguished teaching, scholarship, and service to the University. Professor Parrella retired in June 2020.
