Transfer Peer Mentors and Educators support our new transfer students throughout their first year at Santa Clara University. Peer mentors create community during LEAD Week, meet regularly with their mentees throughout their first year and plan activities for their mentoring groups. Transfer peer educators are a source of support and information in the Advanced LEAD Seminar class that introduces transfer students to SCU resources and leadership opportunities.

Welcome to the LEAD Family!

Greetings! My name is Leandra Couto – it is my honor to be a transfer peer educator in addition to your LEAD Week Assistant and be an active resource as needed. I was born and raised in San Jose, California. I am a third year transfer from Mission College, majoring in Communication with a minor in International Business.

Outside of academics I enjoy volunteering within the community, advocating for poverty alleviation, as well as bridging the divide within education and entrepreneurship in underserved communities.

I look forward to connecting with you during LEAD week!
