Text-to-Speech in Your Browser

Here are some text-to-speech features that may be included by default with your operating system.

Read Aloud & Immersive Reader in Microsoft Edge

Edge includes a Read Aloud feature that can read aloud webpages and highlight text as it does so. The Read Aloud feature can pair with Edge's Immersive Reader, which you can use to remove distractions and customize the font and background color.

Reader View in Mozilla Firefox

With Reader View, you can hear webpages read aloud, remove distractions, and customize the font and background color.

Reading Mode in Google Chrome

With Reading Mode, you can hear webpages read aloud as well as customize the font and background color.

Listen to Page in Safari on iPhone and iPad

What about Safari on Mac?

The Safari web browser on Mac doesn't include text-to-speech in the same way as Edge or Firefox. However, you can use the Speak Selection and Accessibility Reader features on Mac in conjunction with Safari for text-to-speech.
