Lee Panich publishes papers on archaeology of Mission Santa Clara's Native American inhabitants

Lee Panich recently published two papers on the archaeology of Mission Santa Clara's Native American inhabitants. The first, "'Sometimes They Bury the Deceased's Clothes and Trinkets: Indigenous Mortuary Practices at Mission Santa Clara de Asís" appeared in the journal, Historical Archaeology. The second, "Beyond the Colonial Curtain: Investigating Indigenous Use of Obsidian in Spanish California through the pXRF analysis of Artifacts from Mission Santa Clara" was published in the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports. Both articles grew out of laboratory and field research Panich has conducted with SCU students.
