David Coad is thrilled to return to Santa Clara, having set his foundation as an SCU English major. Coad holds a PhD in Education emphasizing in Writing, Rhetoric, and Composition Studies from the University of California, Davis, and an MA in English from San José State University. With over ten years of teaching experience in higher education, Coad deeply resonates with the teaching process, and he encourages students to engage deeply in their own learning process. Coad’s research on digital identities and communities informs his themed CTW sequence, “The Human Role in Digital Technologies." You can find his research in Kairos, Computers and Composition, and JITP. His current project is an edited book of classroom activities, Dynamic Activities for First-Year Composition, which is under contract to be published by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
