Jodie Austin

Jodie Austin earned her Ph.D in English from Brandeis University and her B.A. in English from UC Santa Barbara. Her areas of interest include early modern medical literature, representations of the plague, and video game studies. Austin is committed to teaching writing, literature, and media-intensive courses through a social-justice affirming lens that acknowledges the complicated history of English instruction in North America, She has published in the Huntington Library Quarterly, Game Studies, the Journal of Gaming and Virtual Worlds, and in the edited collection Performing Disability in Early Modern Drama from Palgrave Macmillan (2021).
