Claire Pavelka '20 (Environmental Science and Biology), and Thomas Hayashi '20 (Environmental Studies major and a minor in Computer Science) have recently been awarded a Clare Boothe Luce and REAL fellowship, respectively, to work on a project that investigates the connection between climate change and the presence of various bird populations in California using data from the San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory, eBird, and climatic datasets. They will present results from their research at the Annual Ecological Society of America conference in August. Their ESS faculty mentor is Iris Stewart-Frey.
