Maddie Moran ‘24 and Agustin Pace ‘25 presented posters at the Family Weekend

Modern Languages and Literatures Department students showcase their work on language and culture studies.

Spanish Studies minor Maddie Moran ‘24 presented a poster at the Family Weekend Dean's Reception and Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression Forum, on February 24, 2023. Her poster showcased a project proposal entitled "Los talleres y las artes para promover y avanzar la enseñanza y mantenimiento continuo del español en la comunidad de Washington" (Workshops and the Arts to Promote and Advance the Teaching and Continued Maintenance of Spanish in the Washington Community). Maddie developed this proposal in Spring 2022 for Jill Pellettieri and Laura Callahan's course Span 170: Spanish & the Community. Maddie aspires to attend law school and eventually become a lawyer, using her Spanish language skills to represent Spanish-speaking clients. She also hopes to return to Barcelona, where she studied abroad, to teach English to native Spanish speakers.

Economics and Italian Studies Double Major Agustin Pace ‘25 presented a poster at the Family Weekend Dean's Reception and Undergraduate Research and Creative Expression Forum, on February 24, 2023. His poster titled "Weaving it Together: The work and life of an Italian-American student " showcased Agustin's exploration of and perspectives on personal, academic and research trajectories.
