On Jan 25th, Mohammed Kadalah, lecturer of Arabic at SCU, gave a talk titled: No Journey Is Easy: Syrian Refugees in America.

On Jan 25th, Mohammed Kadalah, lecturer of Arabic at SCU, gave a talk titled: No Journey Is Easy: Syrian Refugees in America. Mr. Kadalah gave an overview of the Syrian Refugee Crisis and discussed the steps that Syrian refugees go through from the time of their application to come to the USA until the time of their arrival. He particularly spoke about his experience working with refugees in Connecticut and the cultural, social, and professional challenges that a lot of Syrian refugees in Connecticut encounter. The event also featured alumna Emily Hawley '13, a current law student at Stanford University. Ms. Hawley talked about her experience with Syrian refugees in Jordan and in Europe.
