Bill Stevens has been selected to give a compelling presentation about the characteristics of effective practice at the Jazz Education Network 9th Annual National Conference in Dallas this January 2018.

Bill Stevens has been selected to give a compelling presentation entitled, “Characteristics of Effective Practice” at the Jazz Education Network 9th Annual National Conference in Dallas from January 3-6, 2018.  This talk was adapted from an inspiring lecture which Bill gave to his Musicianship I class at Santa Clara University.  In this seminar, attendees will learn that effective practice makes the musician; ahead of talent, desire, a positive attitude, luck or 10,000 hours of ineffective practice. In this dynamic, inspirational clinic, Stevens presents 35 characteristics of effective practice including the need to show-up consistently, the expectation of ebb and flow and the willingness to learn from anyone with experiences you do not have.
