Sam Pluta Experiments with His Own Music
Alum, Sam Pluta, is the recent recipient of the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship in Music Composition. Graduating in 2001 with degrees in computer science and music, Sam’s journey at SCU began as a student with very little musical background. While not a typical Santa Clara student, he is also not atypical either. Many students come to our program without experience, and because they receive so much personalized attention they are often able to pursue paths that may not be open to a student at a larger conservatory or music school.
