Advising Tools

Summer

New Students: Attend an orientation session and schedule your classes for Fall.

Fall

All Students: Be aware of drop/add dates and other deadlines.
Sophomores: Applications for study abroad are due in December. You must meet with your faculty advisor to create a 4-year plan.
Returning Students: Use this time to reconnect with your advisor and let them know how your classes are going.
New Fall Students: You should receive your faculty advisor assignment by the third week of the quarter. Be sure to introduce yourself and let them know how your classes are going.
Faculty: Introduce yourself via email to new students assigned to you prior to registration for winter quarter. Meet with advisees applying for study abroad to create a 4-year plan and sign their applications.

Winter

All Students: Graduation petitions for June Graduation are due in February.
Faculty: As needed meet with graduating seniors to complete petition to graduate.

Spring

All Students: Meet with your advisor during the Mandatory May Advising period. Use this time to plan for fall quarter.
Sophomores: Declare a major by the time you complete 88 units. Declare a pathway (on ecampus).
Faculty: Announce appointments to meet with advisees prior to the spring registration window.
