Elias Acosta Mendoza Fellowship 17-18

Environmental Studies & Economics double major, Class of 2020

Aside the main project, Dr. Whittall has provided me with the opportunity to work in a self directed project aside from the main project. This project will give me the pportunity to take the lead along with Dr. Whittall's help. As part of the main project, we need the plants to be pollinated in order to produce seed, and we were thinking about hand pollinating them and leaving them in the forge to let the bees pollinate them. My proposed project could be looking at the two methods of pollination and compare them to showcase the work done by pollinators. This project can only be done if there is side funding since the grant money is specifically allocated to various aspects of the main project. Therefore I was inclined to reach out to the LEAD scholars program to see if there could possibly be any assistance in helping me fund this worthwhile experience.
