What was your college experience like as a first-generation college student?
I was not only a first-gen, but I was also a transfer from a community college which sometimes left me feeling a bit out of the loop from my classmates. Getting involved in clubs was probably the best thing I did to get to know other students with similar interests.
What message do you have to share with current first-generation college students?
Don't be afraid to ask for help or clarification on how to access the resources and services available to you. And if you happen to you run into someone who isn't helpful, ask someone else.
