What was your college experience like as a first-generation college student?
I had to wait until later in life to go to college, so my experience was different than that of my peers at SCU; I was much older and had to work full-time while going to college part-time.
What message do you have to share with current first-generation college students?
My message to first-generation college students is to practice taking art breaks: draw something you see, take an art class, put some colors together, make something cool. Your artistic efforts will translate into problem-solving skills in your ventures.
