What was your college experience like as a first-generation college student?
Eye-opening! I based my entire college search on word-of-mouth from friends and chose Davis simply because I thought it was the best school I received admission for. I never visited any college campuses or thought about all the other factors that go into selecting the right college for me. I feel lucky that Davis was an overall good experience for me.
What message do you have to share with current first-generation college students?
Do your research on the colleges that interest you and that rankings are only a piece of the equation.
