Student and Professional Organizations
The Department hosts the Math/CS society. They sponsor an annual Career Night, resume writing workshops, Git and Github workshops, internship workshops, karaoke, and math jeopardy. There is a chapter of the Association for Women in Mathematics which hosts game nights, hikes, kayaking, and an event for their graduates. In addition to having a Sigma Xi club, Santa Clara University has a chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon,the national mathematics honor society, a chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the national computer science honor society, and a student chapter of the Mathematical Association of America.

Faculty in the department are active in professional organizations, in particular the Mathematical Association of America, and the national director of the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is a member of the department.
