Information as of August 6, 2018

General Information

During your Orientation session is group advising which takes place prior to course registration. Group advising is required and is part of the Orientation schedule. It is important to note that individual advising does not occur during this time. However, new students often have questions about when they can schedule academic advising appointments:

First Year Students: No academic advising appointments will be accepted until you have completed an Orientation session and registered for fall classes.

Transfer Students: No academic advising appointments will be accepted until you have completed a pre-Orientation workshop. Here are the dates for 2018 pre-Orientation workshops:

  • July 11, 1:30pm-3:00pm
  • July 18, 1:30pm-3:00pm
  • July 25, 1:30pm-3:00pm

Deadline

Group advising occurs during your Orientation session. See above information about individual advising.

All new students (first year students and transfer students) meet with their academic advisors and register for fall classes during their respective Orientation sessions:

  • For those attending Orientation sessions in July, your academic advising meetings and course registration occur in July.
  • For those attending Orientation sessions in September, your academic advising meetings and course registration occur in September.
