Program Overview:
The Regents Experiential Learning Initiative (RELI) is offering grants to support educational or experiential programs that significantly advance students' career exploration and preparation. The grant aims to enhance career and professional development competencies, including problem-solving, critical thinking, entrepreneurial, and interpersonal communication skills, preparing students for leadership roles in the workforce.
The RELI program is entering its third year at SCU – in 2024, RELI made total grants of $53,000+ and in 2025, RELI made total grants of $72,000.
Proposal Qualifications:
To be considered for a potential grant, proposals must meet the following criteria:
- The proposal supports undergraduate educational or experiential activities advancing career exploration.
- Participants must be in good academic standing.
- Eligible programs must be sponsored and administered by academic programs, C.S.O., or R.S.O. through a faculty or staff advisor.
- A budget spreadsheet with itemized expenses is required.
- Grant proposals will be considered for up to $15,000.
Additionally, preference will be given to the proposals that demonstrate the following:
- Preference will be given to proposals where no other university funding sources are currently available.
- Preference will be given to proposals that demonstrate a plan to engage with and leverage members of the Board of Regents through mentoring, networking, etc.
- Preference will be given to proposals that demonstrate a path to sustained program effectiveness for future years (which may involve additional requests for RELI grant funding in future years).
Grant Requirements:
- Grant recipients will be required to submit impact reports reflecting the use of the grant to the Board of Regents.
- Grant recipients will be asked to submit regular (e.g., quarterly) updates on the use of the grant and may be invited to address the Board of Regents to receive additional guidance and support.
How to Submit:
To submit a grant proposal for funding consideration up to $15,000, please complete our Google Form (live starting in February) and submit it by March 2nd, 2026. Grant notifications will be made in April 2026.
