Big WIN for Studio Art students at this year's Art of Painting Conference

This weekend, five of our current students and one alumni participated in a statewide juried college exhibition at the Natsoulas Center for the Arts in Davis California. This competition was featured in conjunction with the 10th Annual Art of Painting Conference and exhibit. During the conference Chester Arnold- College of Marin, Perri Schwartz- New York, Alex Gross- Los Angeles and Hung Lieu-Oakland, all spoke and presented their work.

 
Awards for the student competition were selected by Dick Blick regional manager as well as a gallery representative. Schools participating were U.C. Berkeley, U.C. Santa Barbara, U. C. Davis, American River college, College of Marin, U.C.Santa Cruz, Cal.State Univ. at Fullerton,Sacramento City College,,Cal.State University at Chico, Cal. State University at Sacramento,Cal. State Univ. at Humboldt , and Santa Clara University.
 
Students participating from SCU were Madison Blessington, Sarah Dickinson, Alexis Tong. Aliza Katzman, Berkeley Hoerr, and alumni Anna Marie Pilon.
 
Freshman Berkeley Hoerr was the first prize winner and Madison Blessington was the second place winner. A catalog from the exhibit with their work included is available for viewing in the main office. All of our students work was outstanding and they should all be congratulated for their outstanding showing in this exhibit.
