Li Lectures on The Application of System Thinking

Qiuwen Li presents her research, “Think Like a Web Developer: The Application of System Thinking in Web and Interface Design Courses,” at the SECAC 2019 Conference.

Qiuwen Li, Assistant Professor (Graphic Design) in the Department of Art and Art History presented her research, “Think Like a Web Developer: The Application of System Thinking in Web and Interface Design Courses,” at the SECAC 2019 Conference. Her presentation provided practical examples of how to incorporate coding languages, interactive systems, and collaboration into our curriculum. The aim for her research was twofold; to share some potentially useful strategies for teaching web design in today’s classroom with a mixed group of practitioners and academics, and to create a space for open, energetic, and speculative discussion around the causal factors impacting interactive education. SECAC is the country’s second largest national non-profit organization devoted to education and research in the visual arts, with individual and institutional membership of a global scope. SECAC 2019 was held at the Chattanoogan Hotel from October 16-19, 2019, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
