Roya Ebtehaj Reflects on Belonging and Home

On March 2nd, Roya Ebtehaj, a post-MFA Fellow in the Department of Art and Art History, was featured in an article in Forbes. “Within our current political climate, which is saturated with fake news, hate speech and polarization, I find the universal language of art quite powerful. It helps us to communicate ideas, open up cross-cultural dialogues, and allow diversity to flourish," says Roya Ebtehaj.

The article coincides with the opening of “Reflections on Home,” an exhibition in Oakland, CA, featuring the work of 19 women immigrant artists. This exhibition is running throughout the month of March at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center. The event is organized by ARTogether, and GAMA (Gathering All Muslim Artists).
