2020 Ceramics Conference

SCU Studio Art Wins Best in Show Again!

Studio Art students from SCU won Best of Show again! Rhiannon Janeschild '20, a studio art major and art history major, was awarded the top prize in this year's Art of Painting in the 21st Century student competition at the Natsoulas Gallery in Davis. The exhibit features paintings from colleges around Northern California, including UC Berkeley, Sacramento State University, SF Art Institute, UC Davis and more. A Santa Clara trained student won second prize,  Aliza Katzman who is currently at UC Berkeley but who spent her first two years at Santa Clara was recognized as well.

A total of eight SCU studio art painters were included in the exhibit; Victoria Russo, Rhiannon Janeschild, Berkeley Hoerr, Lily Schumacher, Stina Arstorp, Laura Diggs, Brandon van Gogh and Chloe Scheuch. This year's participants were escorted by Professor Kelly Detweiler and Associate Professor Ryan Reynolds from the Department of Art and Art History at Santa Clara University.
