Students Collaborate with Japanese American Museum to Archive Wartime Stories

Students from Takeshi Moro’s ELSJ Digital Storytelling class hosted local community members at the Imaginarium where they showcased the work they did during the quarter. As part of the course, students volunteered at Yu-Ai Kai senior center through Arrupe weekly engagements. For their final project, the students interviewed four Japanese American seniors who experienced incarceration at concentration camps during WWII and created videos to tell their stories. These videos, which were presented through immersive virtual reality headsets, will be donated and archived at the Japanese American Museum San Jose.
