Professor Tsay comments on a new partnership between Alibaba's shopping portal (China's leading B2C website) and the USDA, whereby American food products such as Northwest cherries and Alaskan seafood are sold to Chinese consumers on a pre-order basis.  The program uses a group-buying sales model in which the price to each buyer decreases as more buyers purchase the sale item.
