The Undergraduate Journey
Before starting, students can connect with the SCU Admissions Office and Leavey Student Ambassadors.
All Leavey students start their business curriculum with Contemporary Business Issues and a mix of general education classes. Students will be assigned an individual peer advisor to guide them in course planning and other Santa Clara tips.
Leavey students will explore possible career fields and extracurricular experiences with the guidance of peer and faculty advisors. By the end of the year, they will declare a business major.
Students will continue exploring University and Leavey core courses while beginning to specialize in their chosen major. Many students choose to study abroad, complete internships, and more during their junior year.
Students will wrap up their major studies with their final business courses, culminating in their Capstone course.
After graduating, alumni remain connected to each other, the Leavey School of Business, and Santa Clara University.

This pilot course, part of a broader initiative, is aimed at empowering first-year students to develop their leadership skills ethically and thoughtfully. Through this innovative curriculum, students learn the art of ethical influence and self-awareness, setting the stage for a successful academic and professional journey.
MGMT 181
The foundation of Conscientious Leadership is “To lead others, I will first learn to lead myself”. MGMT 181 is designed to inspire and teach you the role of Purpose, Virtue, Intentionality, Tenacity, and Accountability in your leadership journey through the use of case studies, renowned guest speakers, and inspiring small group discussion.
BUSN 70
All students in the Leavey School of Business take this course in their first quarter–ensuring students are exposed to the tools to solve a variety of business issues and explore all possible major areas.

Former Santa Clara tennis star and Leavey School of Business finance graduate Connor Garnett first picked up a pickleball paddle in April of 2022. In that regard, he’s no different than the nearly 9 million Americans getting into the rapidly rising sport.
