It Is Time to Begin Implementing the Ideas
We are now finishing up week four of spring quarter, and this is where our roles really begin to pick up. Now we are through the planning phases of our projects, and it is time to begin implementing the ideas that we developed and researched from last quarter. My group and I are helping out Juanita’s Flowers, and the main focus of my work this quarter has been arranging a partnership with my former high school to sell corsages and boutonnieres to the students purchasing prom tickets.
Prom season offers a great opportunity for Juanita’s Flowers to gain new customers, as well as give them an extra revenue boost for a couple months out of the year. While this year our group is the one spearheading the efforts to partner with high schools in the area, our hope is that by the time we are finished, we can present Sandra and Estella with order forms, posters, flyers, and a strategy to continue expanding to new schools in the future.
It has been really interesting getting to watch the way that Juanita’s Flowers has evolved in just the short time that we have been working with Sandra and Estella. When we first mentioned the idea of selling corsages and boutonnieres, Estella had never created one before, but by the time we were ready to advertise them to high schools, Estella had taught herself to design corsages and boutonnieres that matched or exceeded those of her competitors! And not only that, but she had already begun selling corsages and boutonnieres to others who visited the shop.
