Even if the Issues Did Not Apply We Gained a Better Understanding of Them

Leopoldo Magana talks about the class presentation from the De Bug team and his group's plans for research on Immaculate Cleaning's competitors.

Last week we reflected on our classroom presentation from the De-Bug team. We spoke about why it is important to become informed about the community we are working in because often the circumstances people are under are different than our own. Gaining an understanding as to what those circumstances are allows us to better help the community we are serving as we can cater more towards their needs and interests. Since all our team members come from different areas and backgrounds it was interesting to see us discuss how we related or did not relate to the issues discussed. Even if the issues did not apply we gained a better understanding of them.

Additionally, we have been very focused on working on our business presentation. We recently divided all our roles up to be able to work on our own parts on a Google document. Fortunately we did not have any problems finding a time to meet outside of class. During our meeting, we talked about any difficulties we might have gathering information. One of the requirements of the project is figuring out competitors pricing but this has proven to be a bit difficult due to the way the cleaning industry typically charges customers. Most businesses have flat rates but since we are working with a service business it makes it difficult to compare prices. We have decided to request quotes based of a benchmark apartment. We will first get a quote from Immaculate Cleaning and then we will get a quote from a competing business using the same apartment.
