Jamal Woodard : La Mejor Taqueria
During the past week, our class was fortunate enough to visit the office of the Mayor of San Jose. This was a great honor for many of us, as it gave our groups the chance to show off the hard work that we put into the past 2 quarters.
With the help of our teacher, mentors, and other assistants, we were able to accomplish many good things for our businesses. One of the biggest takeaways that was shown from the presentations for the mayor is that more reform/programs are needed to support small business in San Jose. Our class was able to let the mayor know that great things can happen when people get the little guidance that they need.
It came to our attention that in the past, programs were established to financially help some of the start-ups in the area, but that funding became shallow. This came as disappointing news, but hopefully we were able to persuasively shed some light on the situation and convince someone in power that more can be done.
