Melanie Vezjak : La Ceiba
Last Tuesday the Executive President for the Santa Clara Valley Region of Wells Fargo Bank, Jeff Rademann, came in to our class to have an open discussion with us. Rademann is a very successful -and busy- businessman, however he made time in his schedule to visit our school and share about his prosperous career. He described his experiences as a professional working for a bank, but he also detailed his role in the community. Jeff has always been involved in service and beneficence; in fact, he is now a board member of the Silicon Valley Education Foundation. This is a non-profit organization dedicated to putting all students on the right track on their education, utilizing the correct programs and resources to provide them with the best opportunities.
This talk was a great way to start our week, because afterwards we all felt highly inspired and enthusiastic about working with our restaurants.
The La Ceiba team has been doing excellent so far. We have encountered some difficulties, but we were able to go through with all of our plans. What is more, we have created a strong connection with the business owners, which has helped us visualize more clearly what our plans for the restaurant have to look like. We want to make sure that every step we take during this process leads towards what the owners, Rufino and Casy, need.
We are also expected to have a final meeting with the CET students by the end of this week or early next week, in order to rectify the last couple of details for the renewal of the patio. The team is hoping to start with the construction by Wednesday of next week.
We are all very excited to see how all of our ideas start becoming a reality, and we cannot wait to see the final result.
