Natalie Ramirez : Team Chavelas
Following last week’s meeting with Jose, Team Chavelas was eager this week to put our plans into action! We presented Jose with a list of items the CET team and we will be doing over the course of the next few weeks to help out the restaurant. And this week we finally began to start our implementation of those projects.
Calli reached out to CET about painting the restaurant. We came together to brainstorm some color schemes that the restaurant could take on. We are going to finalize these colors with Jose and CET so the construction can get started right away. Additionally, Ray met with Jose and the Bank of America representative on Thursday to discuss the Point-of-Sales system, Clover. Another advancement we made was getting our hands on some rough sketches of potential Chavelas Restaurant logos. Three options were provided to us (for free), and two of the designs are very promising. Jose and us agree that either of the two options would work very well for the restaurant.
Upon deciding which logo we prefer, we will begin to order some customary items, such as employee t-shirts and banners. We can also update the Facebook, Yelp, and website with the logo. Moving forward from this week, we will also look into purchasing a baby changing table, working on the website, setting Jose up with a professional Google account for the restaurant, establishing a weekly special that will draw in customers, and finalizing a happy hour menu. We are very excited to see that Jose now has his liquor license and is offering a wide array of specialty drinks, drawing in more and more customers. We are eager to exploit this opportunity!
As our time with Jose is drawing closer to an end Team Chavelas is feeling the pressure to start making some tangible changes. Much of this is reliant on getting the money from our funding source and reaching out to CET about when they can start on painting, building the counter, installing the new door, and fixing small problems with the walls, wires, and flooring
