Philanthropically, Professionally, and Socially

Stephanie reflects on her group's speed of progress and what she has learned from the guest speakers.

The pace is really picking up as we head full force into week five. Almost seventy-five percent of the way through the process, it is clear that our efforts with Blanca are shifting from the development of a plan to the actual implementation of it. The past two weeks have been really monumental in that we finally have a website designer, JB, and a vendor of storefront signs. Now we are waiting for progress on the website and negotiation on prices for the store letters. Fingers crossed!

In addition to our efforts with Sweet Passions, we have listened to two great speakers, Barry Posner and Professor Sundstrom. Barry gave a wonderful presentation on leadership and team building exercises, while Professor Sundstrom shared his fascinating findings on the San Jose economy and wealth gaps. Looking into near future, we will be thrilled to see our efforts with Sweet Passions materialize; while long term, we all are excited to utilize the knowledge and experiences gained here at SCU to do good in this world: philanthropically, professionally, and socially.
