Raymond Whelan : Chavelas

Construction at Chavelas is underway and the team is creating a new logo, t-shirts, menu, signage and website for the restaurant.

Construction is still under way at Chavelas and while we do not have more pictures of the progress, we are excited to share what the restaurant looks like after work is completed! We are still working on creating the new restaurant logo, after which we can get to work on our other deliverables, including ordering t-shirts, menus, signage, and finishing up the website. We expect to have this completed soon and everything else should come quickly after.

We are having to rethink some of our other proposals for the restaurant, primarily the items that would require additional monthly bills for Jose and the restaurant. We no longer think it makes sense for Chavelas's financial situation to install the Clover POS system as, while that would provide great benefit once the restaurant is on solid financial ground, it would be an additional burden to the bottom line. Working with the reality of the slim profit margins of the taqueria business is somewhat difficult. We came into our arrangement with Chavelas full of ideas about how to improve the restaurant but now realize we really have to focus on implementing cost-saving measures that will increase the restaurant's profitability during its early stages so that Jose and his family can continue to support and grow the business!

We have really enjoyed working with Jose, his wife, and the restaurant and are very happy with our current working relationship with them! We have been working with the restaurant throughout the majority of its existence and are really impressed with how far its come. We can't wait to finish implementing our work to leave the restauarant in as good a place as possible before the end of our engagement.
