The Development of Their Business Trajectory and Long Term Goals Remains Important to Every One of Us on Our Team

Corinne Foster talks about her group's plans to help Floreria Juanity expand their business.

Floreria Juanita is a local flower shop in San Jose owned and run by Sandra and her mother, Estella. They moved into their current storefront in September 2016, so their business is still in the early stages of operation. Sandra is in charge of most of the finances, operations, and, communication/marketing, while her mother creates the beautiful flower arrangements. As a business they have recently had a lot of success with a high demand for flowers on Valentine’s Day. Sandra told us that they had to turn some orders down because they were so busy!  It was unfortunate that they couldn’t take those orders, but it showed that they had a high demand for their arrangements.

The owners’ enthusiasm and emphasis on the development of their business is very important and impressive to see. Through our involvement with this business, our team has formed a mutually respectful relationship with Sandra and her mother. Sandra is open to asking us questions, offering ideas, contributing thoughts, and we are very open to do the same. The development of their business trajectory, organizational structure, and long term goals remains important to every one of us on our team.

Specifically, there are changes we are planning to make to the design of their business cards, website, and future flyers. Our ideas for marketing strategies at the moment include enhancing their popularity online using appropriate sponsored advertisements, personal connection and outreach to neighboring community centers, and a few changes to storefront appearances. The high energy and supportive efforts of Sandra and Estella as we collaborate remains beneficial as we move forward as a group.
