The New Website Will Bring in and Retain More Customers

The main goals for the Sweet Passions group this quarter have been to revamp the website and get the business a sign. This week has shown a lot of progress for both goals. On Wednesday, some group members visited Sweet Passions with JB, the person we hired to work on the website, to find out how to gain access to certain parts of the website. This particular issue had cost us time and progress.

The issue was quickly resolved when some login information was found on Blanca’s computer. JB can now work on the website, and we plan to incentivize him to work faster and penalize him to allow the project to stagnate, since the quarter is coming to an end and Blanca is losing customers every day that she does not have a fully functional website.

The website was never perfect to begin with, and there were technical and aesthetic issues that were hard to work around. We anticipate that the new website will be easier to use and will bring in and retain more customers.

The sign has been going very well, thanks to Yacanex. His contact has come in and pitched a sign idea to Blanca, who rejected the initial design, and rejected one of the colors on Wednesday. She has since met with the same worker, and hopefully approved the sign color. Blanca is prepared to invest heavily in the sign, and has asked for an elaborate script and a cake design that will take up the entire space. All that remains now is her final approval, some information from her lease to send to the city, and the installment of the sign. Since Yacanex has brought his contact a lot of business, he is asking for the sign to be complete by June, which would be fantastic. In the meantime, our group members helped put up a banner with a similar design in front of the store.
