We Made Large Progress on Marketing Materials and Website
We are quickly approaching the end of the quarter and fortunately, we are getting close to finishing up a majority of our projects. This week we were able to meet with our business owner, Mary, for dinner in order to show her everything we had been working on. Over the past two quarters we have built a somewhat personal relationship with Mary so this allowed for us to have normal conversation about her everyday life along with discussing how our classes are going. Building this kind of relationship has paid off to help us clearly communicate back and forth between Mary.
We had met Mary about two weeks prior to this meeting and in that time, we made large progress on her marketing materials and her website. Her website is now complete and has been optimized for SEO; however, we still need to purchase an SEO package so that her website can start to rank for keywords such as “San Jose House Cleaning.” Doing this will likely bring in Mary new customers. We also showed Mary her new business cards along with a new flyer she can use to give quotes to her customers. The flyer was created to make the quote process a better sell.
We also finished a newsletter template for Mary which will be useful for her to keep in contact with clients or potential clients that request quotes through her website. Our next step is to continue working on her social media presence and to begin the online paid advertising that we had planned. One issue we may need to deal with is that her Yelp account currently contains two false bad reviews which show up on her first page. This may be deterring potential clients even though she has a 4.5-star rating. She is currently paying for physical ads but we are hoping the online marketing will be able to replace this need as it will make her advertising costs significantly more affordable. Our project will be done on time in regards to marketing materials; however, a lot of the SEO work will continue on into the summer.
